Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the idea of making a big change in your life? Maybe you’ve dreamed of a fresh start, a new routine, or a big breakthrough but didn’t know where to begin. Here’s the good news: Big changes don’t require grand gestures. They start with small, deliberate actions—led by the part of you that knows the way forward. They also don’t need to start on Monday or a New Year, but since we’re just starting a new year it is a great time. You can have a fresh start every day. Small steps to big changes.
Embrace Your Inner Power
First, let’s start with a truth: You are already amazing. You don’t have to change to become “better.” Everything you need is already within you. Often, we chase after change because we think it will finally make us worthy, lovable, or accomplished. But the secret is this: True happiness comes from contentment with where you are right now.
Yes, you can want more. Yes, you can dream bigger. But that desire doesn’t diminish the incredible person you already are.
Letting Your Higher Brain Take the Lead
In a world full of distractions, it’s easy to let our lower, primitive brain take over—seeking instant gratification, avoiding discomfort, and running on autopilot. But your higher brain, the part of you that plans, dreams, and creates, is your secret weapon.
When you let your higher brain run the show, you make choices that align with your long-term goals and values. Instead of chasing quick fixes, you focus on sustainable actions—small steps that, over time, lead to extraordinary transformation.
Our primitive brain has 4 jobs, seek pleasure, avoid pain, conserve energy and keep us safe. On some days that sounds good but if we live there we don’t grow and evolve. When using our primitive brain we are living safe in our cave, where survival is the only job. The easiest way to move from the lower primitive brain to your higher brain is to get curious. We instantly look for ideas and solutions living in our higher brain, the prefrontal cortex.
The Power of Small Actions
Here’s the magic of small actions: They’re doable, repeatable, and powerful. Whether you are wanting to loose weight, declutter your home or start a new workout.
- Instead of overhauling your diet, start by drinking an extra glass of water each day.
- Instead of decluttering your whole house, clear out one drawer.
- Instead of committing to a two-hour workout, try 10 minutes of movement.
These actions may seem small, but they build momentum. They send a message to your brain: I’m capable of change.
Do you want a kick start to your diet, I’ve found a product that is amazing. Two products one protocol. The Feel Great System focuses on insulin resistance. The list of health concerns that show up when you are insulin resistant is long. But with the Feel Great System, intermittent fasting and the two products you can easily reverse it. You’ll feel better than you have in years.
Want to learn how to declutter and organize your pantry, I’ve got you. Check it out here. I’ll send you a free pdf of everything you need to get going, all products are linked for easy shopping.
When we continue to make small changes they begin to add up until you don’t even recognize yourself or your home. You begin to get the results you only dreamed about. Here’s a blog post about the power of organization.
Finding Joy in the Process
Happiness isn’t waiting at the finish line. It’s here, in the journey. Be content with where you are, even as you work toward something more. Gratitude for the present moment doesn’t mean settling—it means recognizing the beauty of your life while welcoming growth.
Having grace fore you and for others. This earth life was meant to be a challenge / messy. Embracing and loving you while working through the challenges gets you the results you want. Shaming, belittling and hating yourself doesn’t bring results. We can never shame ourselves become better.
You’re Already on Your Way
Every small action you take today plants a seed for tomorrow. Trust your higher brain to guide you, celebrate your progress, and know this: Change isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about stepping into the fullness of who you already are. When you get curious your live in your prefrontal cortex, opening yourself up to new ideas, planning and creating a beautiful life.
Yes, it may be hard and painful but doing small things gets you to where you want to be.
So, what’s one small step you can take today?
