Let’s be honest: home life can feel like a never-ending juggling act. Between getting everyone out the door, making meals, keeping up with the mess, and remembering all the little things (hello, missing permission slips, keys, wallet at phone), it’s no wonder we feel exhausted before noon.
If you’ve been craving more calm and a lot less chaos, I’ve got great news for you. That’s exactly what my course From Chaos to Calm: Cultivate Home and Life One Space and Step at a Time is designed to do. And today, I want to give you a sneak peek into one of the most powerful (and practical) tools we talk about in the course: Identifying Pain Points and Habit Stacking. How you can tackle chaos one step at a time.
Where Does Your Day Go Sideways?
We all have “those moments” in the day, the ones that make everything harder. Maybe it’s the mad dash out the door in the morning. Or the dinner hour that feels like a circus. Maybe it’s bedtime when everyone suddenly forgets how to find pajamas, let alone get into them.
That moment, that specific stress point, is what I call your pain point. And identifying it is the very first step toward taking back your time and sanity.
Think about it. What part of your day continues to trip you up? What drains your energy or makes you feel overwhelmed?
Is it the pantry chaos every morning as you scramble for cereal, bread, or peanut butter?
Is it the endless search for shoes, keys, or packing your lunch before you head out the door?
Is it the after work whirlwind of pick up / drop off, what to make for dinner, getting to all the activities.
You’re not alone. And guess what? You don’t have to fix it all at once. In fact trying to fix it all at once is the breaking point. You quickly become overwhelmed then give up and nothing changes.
Start With One Pain Point
You don’t need a fancy planner or a perfectly labeled system (yet). Just pick one small thing that’s driving you nuts. Maybe it’s shoes being all over the floor. Maybe it’s realizing at 7 a.m. that you’re out of milk. Not having enough time to make lunch, not knowing what to wear. Start there. Pick one pain point and figure out a way to make it better.
Why? Because when we solve even one of these daily headaches, the ripple effect is HUGE. Suddenly, mornings are smoother. You’re less reactive. You’re showing up as the calm version of yourself—the one who isn’t yelling over mismatched socks or missing lunchboxes.
Doing a few things the night before will help your tomorrow run smoother. How? It is easier to make decisions when you’re not racing against the clock. Take a minute tonight and locate shoes, decide what you’re putting in your lunch, pick your outfit for tomorrow. Small steps tonight will make a huge difference in the morning.
In the course, we dive deep into how to walk through this process in a way that’s doable, not overwhelming. You’ll learn how to pause, observe, and take small, intentional steps toward change.
Let’s Talk About Habit Stacking
Once you’ve picked your pain point, here comes the magic: habit stacking. If you’ve never heard of this before, it’s going to be your new best friend.
Habit stacking is simply the practice of adding a new, helpful habit onto something you’re already doing. It makes creating new routines so much easier, because it removes the pressure of remembering or doing something totally new.
Here’s what that might look like:
While brushing your teeth at night, take two minutes to check that shoes and backpacks are by the door.
While wiping down the kitchen counter, go over tomorrow’s schedule with your kids.
Before you pour your morning coffee, glance in the pantry and fridge to see what staples you’re low on.
Tiny tweaks like these can save you so much time and stress. And the best part? They become second nature before you even realize it.
Show Up for Yourself—Even When You’re Tired
Look, I know what you might be thinking: “This sounds great in theory, but by 8:00 p.m., I’m spent.”
Same. But here’s the honest truth: if we want smoother mornings, easier evenings, and more peace in between, we’ve got to do something different even if it’s just one small thing the night before.
When you take five minutes in the evening to set yourself up for success, you’re doing something powerful: you’re honoring yourself. You’re showing up for your future self. And that, my friend, is how we reclaim our peace bit by bit.
The course walks you through exactly how to do this in a sustainable, realistic way. We talk about energy, priorities, time blocks, and how to keep things running even when life is full (because it always is).
The only way to create more time in your day is by doing something today that will save you time tomorrow.
It’s Not About Perfection, It’s About Progress
Here’s what I don’t want for you: another system that makes you feel like a failure if you can’t keep up.
We’re not shooting for perfection over here. That’s not real life and frankly, it’s not even interesting. We’re shooting for a little bit better than yesterday. Just 1% more calm. Just one drawer less chaotic. One night of smooth bedtime, or one morning where things run a little smoother.
That’s what From Chaos to Calm is all about.
You’ll get short, practical video lessons, helpful guide sheets, and ideas you can put into action immediately. And we’ll cover more than just pain points and habits—we’ll also dive into:
Laundry systems that actually work
Decluttering in a way that feels empowering
Setting up routines that fit YOUR life and personality
Creating space (physically and mentally) for the things that matter most
You’re Not Behind. You’re Just Ready for Change
If you’ve been feeling like you “should have figured this out by now,” please let that go. There’s no shame in struggling to keep a household running. Life is full. You’re doing a million things. You’re managing a home, caring for others, and trying to take care of yourself in the process.
But now, you’re ready for something more. More peace. More systems. More time for what really matters. This course is here to help you get there, without guilt or overwhelm.
